Benefits of a Personal Trainer

Have you ever found yourself wandering aimlessly through the gym knowing that you need to workout but not having any idea where to start? How about just hopping from machine to machine with no big picture plan just hoping to get something done? If so you may already know the reasons that you need a trainer or a coach to guide you through your fitness journey. I consider myself quite knowledgeable on fitness and have wrote my own programs and coached myself until recently. I decided to hire someone when I knew that I wanted to take my training to next level, and it has been worth every penny. Having a coach provides me with so many benefits that I was missing before, I now have someone to be accountable to, someone that will push me, guide me and remind me that I am doing just fine when I have my low days. I have had the privilege of coaching hundreds of people in a number of different capacities and I like to think that I have had a similar impact on their lives and their journey. Below I have compiled the top 3 reasons I think that everyone needs a coach.


1. An objective eye: It can be hard to look at yourself and what you need objectively; which is what you need to be able to do in order to maximize your results. Sometimes we overlook what our weak spots are, or we have a hard time admitting to them; which is where a coach can come in and help. A good coach will be able to strengthen your weak areas, while still improving on your strengths.

2. Accountability: If you have someone waiting for you at the gym, you maybe a little more apt to go in on the days you are just not feeling it. With a coach you are making an appointment, solidifying your decision to dedicate that time to working out.

3. Learn proper form: Just like it can be hard to determine what exercises we need to improve upon our weak spots, it can be hard to know if we are performing an exercise in a way that is correct for our body. Everyone moves differently and no two people will perform and exercise the same way, a good coach can spot technical errors and help you get the most out of your time in the gym.

Brittany is originally from Buffalo, NY where she received a Master’s of Science in Health and Human Performance with a specialization in Strength and Conditioning. Within that program she had the opportunity to work with cardiac patients, high school, college and professional athletes and aided in facilitating the NHL combine in 2016. She has worked in the industry for over 8 years and has worked with a diverse population of clients on achieving their goals of fat loss, muscle gain and a better quality of life.

She specializes in strength specific sports and is a competitive power lifter in the USAPL herself. Brittany has experience working with bodybuilders, power lifters and those just looking to get into better shape. She enjoys helping people reach new levels in their fitness journey in a healthy, balanced, sustainable way. Brittany believes that fitness should fit into and enhance your quality of life, rather than take away from it.
